Radio Stations of the World
Many world locations are now a mix of nationalities. So, for example you
may be employed in the UK but work closely with South African and New Zealand
staff. SayAgain.info has selected links to various Radio stations, to assist
you to develop your ability to understand English with different speeds and accents.
Some pronunciations of even simple words are very odd, even for natural English speakers. Additionally, in learning any language, it is important to understand and get a feeling for the local moods and attitudes. In each location, ‘Talk Radio’ stations have been chosen. With phone-in chat shows, they provide examples of local callers’ speech more than the normal steady speech of a professional broadcaster.
Caution: much of 'Talk Radio' content is intentionally argumentative, thus some callers (and show hosts) do make unacceptable comments. Therefore to a few nationalities or religions, some views expressed may be extremely offensive. However remember, it is only the Internet that allows us to listen in and these are broadcasts for the local population, not for the world.
Not a radio station but a long running radio drama that provides a good range of real life speech and English regional accents. There are six new episodes every week.
